Stop visiting Mykonos and Santorini – this Greek island is not busy | Europe | Travel

Greece is a popular European holiday destination for Britains, especially in the summer.

Most flights are less than four hours, so British tourists who want to go abroad in the summer months without traveling too far often fly to Greece. Greece is famous for its rich history, with iconic white buildings, beaches and ancient ruins.

Many British people flock to famous Greek islands like Mykonos and Santorini, but can get crowded in the summer months. There are a few options just as beautiful but not busy.

Dorota Urbaniak is an Essex-based travel content creator, focusing on travel in Europe and sharing tips, inspiration and hotel recommendations. She recently highlighted Paros of the Greek island in a video of Tiktok.

Travel fans pointed out that “not all Greek islands are busy in the summer.” She showed how quiet Paros is during her visit, which was quiet from morning to evening.

Paros is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea, most famous for its beaches and traditional villages. Located in the heart of the Cyclades Islands, it features many golden beaches, lush mountains and cliff villages.

According to Greece, the two main villages are Parikia and Nausassa. These villages are packed with “traditional taverns, luxurious restaurants and sophisticated bars.”

Tourists who are not fans of the noisy music can wander through the peaceful villages of Lefke and Malpissa. Dorota's tiktok video includes clips of Paro from 9am to 8pm, highlighting how peaceful and quiet the island is as it walks through the city and relaxes on the sandy beach.

She also exhibited a restaurant with outdoor sea tables and beautiful vibrant flowers, a white building. In the caption of her Tiktok post, she wrote:

All clips from her video presented Paros as relaxing and releasing him from the crowd. Greece says the island is particularly famous for its “stunning” beaches, some of the most famous, including Santa Maria, Golden Beach and Colin Bisul.

However, the Greek tourism website points out that there are also plenty of remote beaches for those looking for privacy. The weather in Paros is hot and sunny in the summer, but mild in the winter, and according to Greece, “it's very humid at night.”

Paros is a top destination in water sports, including windsurfing and kitesurfing, as it has an ideal wind condition thanks to the strong, dry north and Mertemi winds that blow the Aegean Sea during the summer months. The island is easily reached by plane from Athens International Airport and by ferries from Athens Port (Piraeus, Rafina, Lavrio), Mykonos, Santorini Naxos and even more Cycladic Island.

In the comments section of her Tiktok video, Dorota repeatedly said, “Not all Greek islands are busy,” urging her followers to “choose wisely.” One user commented: “I need to go as soon as possible,” another described Paros as “surprising.”
