It was the moment that beer lovers and heritage buffs were eagerly waiting for. The actual Yale campaign, Kamura's Pub Design Awards 2025, featured, with one London Boozer winning the highest honor.

Celebrating “the most visually stunning, historically important and lovingly restored pub in all of the UK,” the award saw Ealing's Forester scoop up the coveted “community local” category.

The praise judged by design and conservation experts alongside historic England, shining a spotlight on the importance and vulnerability of the country's beloved pub architecture.

This year, Forester surprised the panel with an original Edwardian character “respectful renovations,” including a fireplace and impressive art nouveau-style stained glass.

A proud Fuller pub, Forester sits on the street corner of Ealing, representing what the community's local category is.

Andrew Davison, chairman of the Pub Design Awards Jury Committee, welcomed the recipients for their craftsmanship and dedication to the British pub heritage.

He said: “The Pub Design Award recognizes the highest standards of pub architecture and rewards artistic talent and laborious historical conservation.

“From inviting locals at StreetCorner to captivate medieval coaching inns, there are great pubs in the UK, and there are artisanal craftsmen that come with making these venues a luxurious place for cask beer to enjoy, and you need to properly praise the real cider and Perry.

“I encourage heritage and pub lovers to visit these inspirational buildings.”

And the punter seems to agree. Drinkers have rave reviews of Forester on TripAdvisor, celebrating everything from the food to the atmosphere.

Alice C wrote that “A lovely pub! This is a really very nice and cozy pub, a cozy pub with a good range of drinks and great food. The Thai food is great. I recommend it. Suitable for a nice beer garden and group.”

    Dirkh2 added:

The Sunday roast also received a sparkling review. Adam C. said: “We went for the roast on Sunday. The food was perfect, the staff was very nice and helpful. The highlight for me was the gammon horseshoe shape. Great beer, good vibe.”

Not everyone is completely satisfied. John said: “I had Carberry lunch today. Prices rose 40% over two years.”

But now it's nationally recognized, so it's safe to say that Forester has achieved its place among the UK's most beautiful boots.
