Taiwan's Starlux Airlines is placing fresh orders for 10 Airbus A350-1000 and 10 Airbus A350-1000 as it appears to boost its long-distance network.

The order, announced at the Paris Air Show on June 18th, will also be placed as carriers prepare to prepare their first -1000 delivery later in the year.

Starlux is an established operator of the A350, with the -900 being deployed primarily for oral airmails to North America. Additionally, 10 A350 cargo ships have been ordered and operate the A330Neos and A321neos.

According to Starlux Chief Glenn Chai, the first A350 of the 10 Newy-Ordered A350 will be available from 2031.

Chai previously said the -1000 is key to enabling airlines to expand operations to the US East Coast. Starlux currently flies to four points in the US: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Ontario.

This is expected to launch a flight to Phoenix in the first quarter of next year, and Chai says he can see the A350-1000 service. The card also has flights to Europe, with the airline looking to launch its first European destination in 2026.

Calling orders in long distance expansions “a critical step,” Chai adds:

Starlux has also announced new colouring for the A350-1000 fleet. It features a carbon fiber design on the aircraft tail.
