Europe has many beautiful countries that are perfect for urban breaks. Places like Krakow and Warsaw in Poland are great for cheap pints, but Barcelona and Valencia in Spain could be a better choice for those who want nice beaches and sun. However, Europe has another little-known spot that is small and unique for several reasons.

Its location is Andorra, a small country hidden in the mountains of the Pyrenees between France and Spain. Despite its size (only 180 square miles), it is perfect for anyone looking for a charming, quiet and scenic break.

What makes Andorra unique is the lack of airports and stations.

It is one of the few countries in Europe and along with Monaco and San Marino, it cannot fly or ride a train.

Instead, visitors travel by road from nearby cities such as Barcelona and Toulouse. The nearest train station is located at L'osposet-Près-L'Andorre, about 15 miles away in France.

The capital Andorra La Bella is considered to be the tallest capital in Europe and sits at 1,023 meters above sea level.

It lives up to around 22,000 people and has everything you need for a relaxing city break – cobblestone streets, boutique shops, mountain views in all directions.

Known as Bali Antik, the old town is full of history.

Tourists can visit Casa de la Val, the former council building of the country, and Esglesia de Sant Esteve, a Romanesque church built in the 11th century.

Just outside the capital, the Santa Coloma Church is thought to date back to the 9th century.

Andorra is not part of the European Union, but uses the euro and follows several EU trade rules.

Low tax and tax-free shopping are a major draw for visitors, along with cheap fuel and ski resorts like Soldo.

The country is also popular for hiking in the summer.

Trails like the Tristaina Lake Trail and Valle de Incles have beautiful scenery, and thrill seekers can try Tobotronc, the world's longest alpine slide.

Despite the lack of airports and train stations, millions of people visit Andorra every year, and tourism makes up a large part of its economy.

The bus runs regularly from nearby airports in Spain and France, and arrives in Andorra La Bela in about 3 hours.
