The latest ABTA report on the importance of travelling in the UK shows the vibrancy, resilience and fundamental strength of the industry. It contributes more than £52 billion in GVA each year, supporting a total of 818,000 jobs across the UK.
The study also shows that outbound is the fastest growing part of the UK's travel and tourism industry, born of the pandemic.
At the point of great geopolitical and transaction uncertainty, we are faced with a critical moment for the travel industry and the wider UK economy. The UK government has made it clear that this parliamentary term prioritization will bring economic growth. With that in mind, it is essential to shed light on an industry that has been a blind spot for consecutive governments.
