Like many people, if you are worried about unforeseen circumstances that you may run into on your holiday, limited to weekend stays can feel even more challenging. What if you need some nice shoes for dinner at a restaurant? What would you do if it suddenly rains? Do you have a chance to go to the beach?
Travel expert Richard Edwards, owner of White House Hideaway, has revealed a simple package packing hack that simplifies the experience. In fact, there is no one packaging that says “many people” tend to be “wrong” when leaving over a long weekend. “They choose a big bag because they think they need space and then feel compelled to fill it,” warns Edwards.
Instead, it's much better to start with a small weekend bag or a cabin size suitcase for a short trip.
Physical constraints make you more selective about what you bring with you.
However, there are other top tips to make the entire process smoother, starting with your capsule wardrobe.
The capsule wardrobe can be made up of comfortable jeans, two tops, and a light jacket for creating multiple ensembles.
To keep the look all together, we recommend choosing a color palette of 2-3 shades.
“Think about what you're actually doing, not what you might do,” advises Edwards.
And it's worth checking out the weather forecast and checking out the activities you've planned.
“Check out the amenities at the accommodation, and many of the accommodation spots offer basics such as toiletries, towels and hair dryers.
Another top tip is to roll the clothes you're stuffing in your weekend bag to maximize your space.
“Rolling can easily save 30% of your packaging space,” says Edwards. “And more, when you can see each item clearly, everything remains more organized.”
It is also recommended to avoid mentality “just as a precaution” when packing.
What is one of the advantages of light packaging? It is more likely that you will start your holiday earlier than unpacking at your accommodation.
