Kenya's travel & tourism sector is projected to donate a record 1.2 trillion Ksh to the national economy in 2025, according to new data released by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). This is up 24% at pre-pandemic levels in 2019, accounting for more than 7% of the country's GDP. The sector is also expected to support 1.7 million jobs, accounting for more than 8% of national employment, maintaining a key role in Kenya's economic situation.

Domestic tourism is projected to reach below Ksh 560 billion, while international visitors spending is projected to reach Ksh 300 billion. This has been an increase of 31% since 2019. The WTTC attributes this growth to Kenya's diverse tourism offerings and continuous infrastructure improvements, ranging from Safari Parks to coastal and cultural experiences. Congress expects the sector will contribute 1.8 trillion KSH to the economy by 2035, support more than 2.2 million jobs, and highlight the long-term potential of sustainable development and economic resilience.
