It's time to break up our daily school routine and let our kids engage in nature on a day trip to the Crocworld Conservation Center on the South Coast of KZN! With over 30 years of experience in conservation education and set in Scottberg's stunning coastal setting, Clock World offers student-friendly schools and rich, affordable school excursions.
Crocworld has gained a reputation as an outdoor classroom that brings nature to life through hands-on experiences and guided tours. Susan Badat, manager of the Clock World Conservation Centre, explains that their tours aim to inspire young minds while promoting a deeper understanding of the natural world.
“We believe that at Clock World, the best lessons are learned outdoors!” she explains. “Our school tours offer unique opportunities for students to connect with wildlife in a safe, educational and exciting environment. We are passionate about conservation and education, and there is no better way to share that message than directly attracting students to the wonders of nature.”
Benefits of going out at school for kids
She said that tours of educational schools are more than just seeing animals up close. “Our tours give children the opportunity to build confidence and better understand the need for conservation through real-world experiences. Connecting with charismatic wildlife and listening to a passionate team about animal care will inspire a generation of future conservation warriors!”
She says that some of the benefits of such an “outdoor classroom” include:
– Enhance classroom concepts through practical applications.
• Encourage social interaction and teamwork as students engage outside of classroom restrictions.
• Improve confidence and independence as students navigate new environments and experiences.
• Inspires curiosity and interest in conservation to encourage the next generation of environmental managers.
– Promote physical well-being as children spend time outdoors, walk and explore in nature.
