Skymark Airlines plans to acquire six Boeing 737 Max 8s in the top-up order book for fleet updates.
The transaction, approved by the Japanese airline board on May 22, is valued at a price of 143.4 billion ($997 million), including the purchase of CFM International Engine.
Skymark said the new 737S will start from 2030. The deal adds to the 2022 commitment of the four 737 Max Jets with two more options.
The airline currently headquartered in Tokyo has a fleet of 29 737-800.
For the year ending March 31st, Skymark reported operating profit of 1.8 billion yards. Revenues rose 4.6% to 1,0008.9 billion trillion.
