This pretty seaside town is in Scotland and you may not have heard of it, but it is a great place for weekends and also offers free parking. Scotland's Troon is located on the stunning Ayrshire coast, offering beautiful views and is a perfect place for a relaxing stay.

It may seem like an obvious place for a holiday, but it is a genuine, quiet nature and in fact makes it an attractive place for visitors. Just 40 minutes by car or train from Glasgow, you can greet the seaside on weekends.

Upon arrival, four free parking spots in the area are available. This means you can't break the bank and enjoy your visit.

According to our sister newspaper The Scottish Daily Express, the town is abandoned that week, so you will be able to enjoy the area yourself.

The Royal Toon Golf Club, famous for golf, was founded in 1878 and originally consisted of five holes, but today it has 45 holes. This course is world-renowned and is one of the host courses of the Open Championship.

The beach of Troon is one of the most popular places, with a mile of clean, golden sand that stretches from the center of the north to the golf clubs.

Popular places near the port include Scotts bars, restaurants and harbour bars. Ayrshire's fish market is held at the port and is popular with yacht enthusiasts.

If you want to get out into nature and explore the area on foot, the popular smuggler trail walk is a great way to see the sights while learning about the history of the walk.

The total route takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes, but there are plenty of places you can stop by to finish your walk early if you don't want to complete the entire trail.

Historically, this was a secret route in which smugglers transported contrabands to be sent for resale in other parts of Scotland, such as Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Troon is a popular place to visit for those living nearby. One visitor said:

“This beach has amazing soft sand and great views of Alan. There is also a great ice cream shop there, so I recommend visiting here.

If you want to take a break, it can be the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
