Thanks to its beautiful coastline, ancient cities and delicious food, millions of British people flock to the turkey every year. And ahead of what is expected to be a very busy summer with international travel, EasyJet shares turkey-specific guidance for holiday makers.
As we know, it is important to be well informed before traveling abroad. EasyJet urges travelers on its website: “Before you fly to Turkey, make sure your passport is valid and meet the entry requirements indicated to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs or check local consul advice, such as the FCDO website.
“Most EU citizens or UK passport holders do not usually require a visa for tourists staying for less than 90 days in 180 days. However, there are exceptions such as service passport holders and UK overseas citizens, so check out our advice before you travel.”
Official guidance from the Foreign Ministry states that UK passport holders should ensure that at least one blank page the documents are valid for at least 150 days after arrival.
Advice Contues: “Renew your passport as needed. If you do not have a valid travel document, your entry will be denied if you attempt to use a passport that was reported to be lost or stolen.”
Echoing the information on EasyJet, explaining that tourists can enjoy a visa-free visit to Turkey for up to 90 days for leisure and business, but anyone who wants to extend their stay beyond this period must secure a short-term residence permit.
Those visiting a turkey for work, study or treatment may need to apply for a visa.
