Juliana Kagwa has been appointed CEO of the Uganda Tourism Commission (UTB).
She will replace Lily Ajarova, who took on a new role as Senior Presidential Advisor after serving as CEO from January 10, 2019.
Before joining UTB, Kagwa was the director of group sales marketing for the South African company Seed Co Group. Prior to that, she was Diageo's corporate affairs director.
UTB promoted CEO status in January and sought highly qualified candidates with a bachelor's degree in tourism, economics, business administration or related fields. Applicants needed at least seven years of experience in tourism, hospitality, or marketing, demonstrating the skills of senior management positions.
