    Direct flights launched from Gatwick to “African Pearls” boost tourism

    A new direct flight route between London and Uganda is expected to be released.

    Uganda Airlines has announced the launch of direct service from London Gatwick Airport to Entebbe International Airport.

    Flights will begin on May 18, 2025 and will run four times a week.

    The 9-hour, 30-minute service aims to provide UK travelers with convenient routes to Uganda, known for its rich biodiversity and thrilling tourist experiences.

    “We are pleased to announce that Uganda Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamturaki said:

    “We are thrilled to provide UK travelers with a direct, convenient gateway to African pearls and experience unparalleled wildlife, breathtaking scenery and warm Ugandan hospitality.

    “We invite the world to discover the magic of our nation.”

    The launch of this route is becoming increasingly popular as Uganda as an adventure and ecotourism destination, with apes, national parks and cultural riches.

    The flight will work with the Airbus A330-800NEO, along with business, premium economy and economy class cabins.

    Fares start at £553 and include generous baggage allowances.

    The effective flight schedule from May 18, 2025 is as follows:

    From London Gatwick to Entebbe: Arrived in Entebbe at 7:05pm on Sunday, 9:40am on Tuesday, 9:50am on Wednesday, 12:40pm on Friday, 6:35am, 9:10am, 9:20pm, 12:20am (next day).

    Entebbe to London Gatwick: Arrived in Gatwick at 9:25am Sunday, 12:05am Wednesday, 12:25am Thursday, 3:10am 3:10am 4:55pm 7:35am 7:55am 7:55am 10:40am AM .

    The launch of this new route provides a seamless gateway for UK travelers to explore Uganda's rich natural heritage. From trekking with the endangered mountain gorillas to witnessing the Big Five safari.
