The 24-year-old man has been arrested for refusing to leave Boseman Yellowstone International Airport in Belgrade, according to allegations filed in court.

The man, Angele Robert Mugisha, was in the county jail on Saturday for allegedly trespassing and disorderly conduct by detectives. He was jailed on May 8 following an investigation that began around 6:30am that day when airport police were dispatched to the ticket counter seating area. Mugisha is said to ask ticket agents to pass to Rwanda and call the US president of the name as someone to buy a plane ticket.

Rwanda is located in the Great Lakes region of East Africa.

Mugisha told airport staff that he would live there until tickets are issued, according to an affidavit filed by an airport police officer who was filed in the county court of justice.

Mugisha had been arrested once before at Belgrade Airport in a similar situation. On March 25, he reportedly had been asked to buy tickets from airport staff and customers, and was reportedly kicked out by police and only $80.

“The defendant stated that he has been a student since 2018 and that his visa had expired in 2023,” reads a March 25 affidavit by another officer.

Mugisha is not legally permitted to be in the US and has been subject to the proceedings, according to the affidavit on March 25th. He was arrested repeatedly, claiming he refused to leave. He later joined.

Information regarding the Mugisha immigration case was not immediately available.
