As South Africa prepares for a month's public holiday, Lion & Safari Park is ready to welcome families across the country for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of nature. With thrilling wildlife encounters, family-friendly activities and a scenic outdoor environment, this park offers a perfect destination for a fun and educational holiday holiday.

Conveniently located just a short drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, Lion & Safari Park is the ideal day trip destination for families looking to reunite with nature, learn something new and create lifelong memories. With a wide range of activities for all ages, the park is a haven for animal lovers, curiosity and outdoor adventurers.

“April holidays are the perfect time for families to escape the fuss and immerse themselves in the beauty of South African wildlife,” says Shandor Rathi, group wildlife and conservation manager at Lion & Safari Park. “The park offers a unique opportunity for visitors of all ages to connect with nature and create lasting memories together.”

Visitors can enjoy guided game drives through enclosures, home to lions, cheetahs, wild dogs and a variety of other species, but self-driving routes offer flexibility for families who want to explore at their own pace.

Feeding of park predators, held at 12:00 and 15:00 on weekends and public holidays, provides an inescapable experience for animal lovers.

In addition to the wildlife experience, the park offers plenty of family-friendly amenities. Children can enjoy outdoor playgrounds, paint their faces, ride their children's horses, eat giraffes, and participate in Little Rangers' educational programs. For those looking for extra excitement, quad bikes, guided 4×4 game drives and horseback safarisare are also available.

When it's time to take a break, guests can relax in one of the park's several meal options, from casual meals to more formal sit-in experiences, allowing families to relax and refuel during their visit. Before returning home, visitors can also browse the iconic 5-dome shopping experience featuring unique souvenirs, local crafts and gifts.

    Plan your visit
