Theme park holidays are a great way to bring the whole family together and there are plenty of activities suitable for all ages. There are some destinations famous for being home to some of the world's most famous theme parks, but this one destination may be the ultimate place for a recreational holiday. The incredible country has some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including a brand new country that is set to open this summer.

China's amusement park industry peaks, subtracting billions of pounds each year. In 2023, the industry will bring 60 billion yuan (about 6 billion pounds) to the Chinese economy, and with the opening of a new Legoland theme park in the country that will welcome visitors from July 5th, the industry will only continue to grow.

In fact, by 2028, this figure is expected to surge to over 110 billion yuan, equivalent to over £11 billion. This kind of increase will strengthen China as a major destination for global theme park investments.

Currently, there are around 385 theme parks in China. This includes two Disneylands. One is located in the Global Financial Hub, Shanghai and the other in Hong Kong.

In 2023, around 14 million adventure-seeking visitors headed to the theme parks, becoming one of the top five visited theme parks in the world, and international companies are already looking to expand it.

Shanghai Disneyland is revealing plans for the first Marvel-themed attraction at the amusement park and is building a third-themed hotel. In Hong Kong, the park will also expand its Marvel area and open a new Pixar Entertainment Experience.

In Beijing, Universal Studios theme park, which opened in 2021, is coming in the second phase of development. It is set to include up to five new hotels, with more than twice the current size expanding.

More than 50 new theme parks across China are under development or are expected to be released this year. “China offers a great business environment,” says Siegfried Boest, managing director at Legoland Resorts China.

He added: “LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort has a world's first set of worlds to meet growing demand. This will help boost the local economy and increase Shanghai's competitiveness in the international tourism market.”

China is now It will develop a studio tour for Harry Potter and build the world's largest Peppa pig outdoor theme park. Both are in Shanghai It is open to visitors in 2027.
