The “best” pub in London is named. It was once owned by Madonna and Guyrichy | UK | Travel

London has over 3,500 pubs, ranging from traditional boomers to themed destinations throughout the city. These pubs range from pub chains to hidden gems that are lesser known and even celebrity-owned venues. Some of these pubs date back centuries, some of the oldest in the city believed to have opened doors in the 1500s.

Currently, one pub is named Best Punch Bowl at Mayfair, and has won the “Best Destinet Pub” spot at the Muddy Stiletto 2025 London Awards. The pub, which dates back to about 1750, filmed when it appeared in the documentary, continuing to play Madonna in 2004, seeing her and then-husband Richie, spending the night in the pub.

Four years later, in March 2008, the couple bought the pub with nightclub entrepreneur Pier Adam reporting £2.5 million. After the couple divorced in November 2008, shares in Madonna's pub were moved to Richie.

Guy Richie then sold the pub in 2013 to Alexander Langlands Pearse, owner of Cirrus Inns, which owns numerous pubs across the country.

During the heyday of A-list ownership, the pub was frequented by rich and famous people, with notable guests such as Prince William and Prince Harry, David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Timberlake, and Judelaw.

Visitors to the pub have left a rave review on TripAdvisor since the change in ownership, saying, “A very cozy old school pub. The service team and bar team are dressed and suited to the character of the property.

“After a windy walk and the marwines were great, the fire was very necessary. The food looked good, but we went for a drink during our afternoon walk.

Another addition: “Great dining experience! Great service and great food. The staff were all friendly and efficient – we were very welcoming and made us feel special… The menu suggestions were spots and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Definitely coming back soon!!!”

While the third person wrote, “I was very impressed with the amazing team at Punch Bowl. The food was amazing and I've never seen the head chef walk casually.

“It was also a great sign that the kitchen runs well to allow the kitchen to do this. Thank you Mira! The atmosphere, the atmosphere, the bar – all top tier!

The fourth visitor said, “A great date venue with a really good atmosphere and great staff! We were happy to see Jess and Annabelle!
