Cruise ship passengers have issued warnings about “disastrous” mistakes that ruin the holidays | Cruise | Travel

Many are still trying to book a holiday cruise even in the summer. However, it is important to do research to know exactly what to book. Travel experts have shared important warnings to tourists ahead of the cruise over the coming months. Gary Bembridge, host of Travelers YouTube Page Tips, said one simple mistake could negatively affect people's cruise holidays. Travel authors and authors with over 470,000 subscribers on YouTube have advised passengers on the video.

He urged the cruisers to choose their own cabin, rather than leaving it to them. Gary explained that staying in an inappropriate cabin can make your holiday “miserable.”

    He explained:

“A lot of people tell me that cabins aren't that important, it's just a place to change and sleep.

“But, as Smart Cruisers agree, if you have a cabin that doesn't suit you, it can make your cruise sad.”

He recommends booking a guaranteed fare. These are the fares where you book a cabin grade and the cruise line allocates the cabin.

Gary added: “These cabins are left after booking fares where people can choose a particular cabin, and Hoover has the best cabins of that grade, including the best locations.

He also advised on how to choose the best cabin. Gary said the location of the cruise cabin is very important and it's best to avoid busy areas of the ship.

“The smart cruiser also chooses a cabin surrounded by other cabins in all aspects. So it's the top, bottom, either side of me, and ideally the opposite,” he explained. “We also check the deck plans on the website to make sure the cabins are away from busy areas and are far from venues such as children's clubs, nightclubs, live music venues, and theatres.”

Gary continues: “The deck's plans also show no door-free cabins with interconnected doors, which avoid potentially raucous neighbors watching TV, parties and discussions.”
