Dubai Emirates Airlines (EK) will expand its mainland China network by launching daily non-stop flights from Dubai (DXB) to Hangzhou (HGH) from July 30, 2025. This new route strengthens connectivity and economic ties between the UAE and the Chinese innovation hub.

The service is run by the Boeing 777-300ER and connects travelers to 38 European, 22 Africa and 11 Middle Eastern destinations via Dubai (DXB). Hangzhou (HGH), a Tech Powerhouse, offers unique opportunities for passenger and freight operations.

    New flights to Emirates Bay

Emirates (EK) will introduce daily non-stop flights between Dubai (DXB) and Hangzhou (HGH) and mark the fifth gateway in mainland China, along with Beijing (PEK), Guangzhou (CAN), Shanghai (PVG) and Shenzhen (SZX).

Open on the 3-class Boeing 777-300ER, the service offers 2,478 seats.

The Flight EK310 will depart Dubai (DXB) at 0940 and arrive at Hangzhou (HGH) at 2200. The EK311 return flight leaves Hangzhou (HGH) on 0010 and lands in Dubai (DXB) on 0455.

These timings allow for seamless connectivity to 38 European cities, including 22 African destinations, including Istanbul (IST), Barcelona (BCN), Cairo (CAI) and Johannesburg (JNB), 11 Middle Eastern locations, and Brazil and Argentina.

Sharing the importance of this route, Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, said:

Hangzhou, a new global hub for innovation and e-commerce, opens new pathways for passenger and freight operations and promotes economic and technological exchanges between the Middle East and China. ”

The expansion is consistent with Emirates’ global growth strategy, enhancing access to East Asian markets and supporting bilateral relations between the UAE and China. The airline has recognised local government support in establishing this route with the aim of increasing global connectivity.

    Global Innovation Hub

Hangzhou (HGH), the capital of Z Jiang Province, is a major centre for innovation, e-commerce and advanced manufacturing. The city, home to Alibaba Group, is expected to drive China’s digital economy and surpass AED 70 billion by 2026.

In 2024, Hangzhou’s core digital economy industry was generated with 1 trillion AEDs, donating 28.8% to the city’s GDP. By leveraging artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing, Hangzhou is captivating global high-tech startups and innovation centres, cementing its role as a dynamic high-tech hub.

Beyond its technical prowess, Hangzhou (HGH) offers a rich cultural appeal, including UNESCO-listed West Lake, Leifen Pagoda, Empire Street of the Song Dynasty in the South, and archaeological sites of the city of Linghi. This blend of historical heritage and modern innovation makes the city a compelling destination for Emirates passengers looking for a diverse travel experience.

    Enhanced passenger and freight services

Serving the Dubai (DXB)-hangzhou (HGH) route, the Boeing 777-300er offers eight first class suites, 42 angle flat business class seats and 304 economy class seats.

Passengers enjoy ICE, Emirates’ award-winning infolit entertainment system, featuring over 6,500 channels in over 40 languages, including Chinese, and locally inspired dishes featuring popular Chinese and desserts. The aircraft configuration ensures a premium travel experience for business and leisure travelers.

Emirates Sky Cargo is leveraging new routes to strengthen trade ties between China and the United Arab Emirates to strengthen Hangzhou’s role as a major freight and e-commerce hub.

The service supports efficient transport of high value goods such as electronic devices, pharmaceuticals and fresh food, reducing the time it takes to markets for Africa, Latin America and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The weekly 49 flights to mainland China include two daily flights to Guangzhou (CAN) and Shenzhen (SZX), including two daily services to Beijing (PEK) and Shanghai (PVG), as well as the new Hangzhou (HGH) route, which strengthens its commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative.
