Greece is one of the most visited countries in the world, boasting many sun-filled places on the mainland and stunning islands. Among the most popular islands visited by millions of people each year are Crete, Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini. However, there is an equally beautiful island and is only visited by a small fraction of the number of tourists. The untouched island of Cassos is located at the southernmost tip of the Aegean Sea.

With few tourists, this hidden gem island makes it a great destination for British holiday makers to truly enjoy a peaceful escape. Cassos boasts plenty of beaches for British people to suck up the sunlight. The 60-kilometer coastline features all kinds of beaches, rocky, sandy and secluded areas.

The most popular is Emporios Beach. It is a small sandy beach with shallow blue seas, especially attractive for families with small things. Additionally, there are many tourist facilities such as changing rooms, sunbeds and umbrellas, so visitors are often cared for.

Vricha Beach, close to the island's main port, is perfect for those who want to stay in the heart of the island. It is also perfect for those who want to enjoy a simple swimming.

The island is relatively small, so strolling through the picturesque villages and coasts is a great way to see all the beautiful sights of Cassos. The island's treasures are truly the untouched beauty across the land.

Gold, also known as Hora, is the island's main settlement and welcomes visitors arriving by boat. Walking through paved alleys is a fascinating experience. The roads are lined with beautiful pebble mosaics, houses belonging to sailors and stunning churches.

Take a step further and choose one of the hiking trails in Cassos. This will take you to some of the least accessible parts of the island. The Wild Cassos route begins at the incredible monastery of Agios.

The 8.6-kilometer hike ends in the village of Agia Marina on a beautiful hilltop and houses a beautiful beach.
