One of the UK's best seaside towns is home to one of the thrilling piers and one of the largest beaches in the country. The UK enjoys taking nice food in sunny weather. This means that many Brits are planning their days and weekends at home, as well as planning their overseas holidays. Seaside towns and cities such as Margate and Brighton often attract many visitors, but there are other visitors on the list of considerations.

Bournemouth is located on the southern coast of the UK in the scenic county of Dorset. Nearly 200,000 people live in the coastal spot. Many of them know well the many things this place has to offer. But some visitors who have never been to this major coastal town in southern England may not be aware of the joy it offers, including the huge beaches and exciting piers. Bournemouth is located 30 miles southwest of Southampton and 38 miles east of Weymouth.

When it comes to what you need to do in Bournemouth, the standout appeal is Bournemouth Beach. Made up of sand and shallow waters, this spot makes it a perfect place for a family day when the weather is nice.

Bournemouth Beach is a massive seven miles long. This means you are guaranteed to find a place to lay out your picnic blanket and beach towels. When you are there, the beach appears to be stretching forever, and the outstanding feature is the pier, with plenty of entertainment and attractions.

In addition to many regular events on the pier from comedy to music, there are regularly open attractions here that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, including slot machines and other arcade games, indoor rock climbing, outdoor zip lines, and numerous highly rated restaurants and cafes.

Visitors to Bournemouth Pier were overwhelmingly positive about it. One TripAdvisor user wrote: “The pier offers a great blend of traditional seaside attractions and modern attractions, making it a great place for visitors of all ages.

“The wide panorama of Bournemouth's golden sandy beaches, vibrant waters and iconic cliffs in the distance were simply breathtaking.”

Besides the beaches and piers, Bournemouth has plenty more to offer, making it a great place for a weekend getaway. Some of these popular attractions are Henguestburyhead Beach, Ocean Run, Southbourne Beach and the Swanage Railway.

For pedestrians and hikers, Bournemouth has a lot to do, not just the surrounding country trails, including long walks through the new forest. Meanwhile, the surrounding hills also provide mountain bikers with proper adrenaline corrections.

Fishermen are also spoiled for choice on the huge coastline dotted with popular fishing spots. There are plenty of tackle and bait shops in the area so if you want to try your hand at fishing, you can get everything you need.

Plus, Bournemouth is a popular destination for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. The town has a wide variety of natural habitats, including nature reserves, allowing you to get close and observe attractive British wildlife.
