Jet2 announced that it was “monitoring the situation” at several popular holiday destinations following the power outage on Tuesday, April 29th.
A leading UK tour operator said on Tuesday that the team is “closely monitoring” the event after Spain and Portugal experienced significant power disruptions. In its latest statement, Jet2 said: “There was a power outage that affected mainland Spain and Portugal on April 28th. Our team is closely monitoring the impact, and all Jet2.com flights are currently operating today (April 29th).
“We will provide further updates here if any changes will occur and contact you via SMS and email. Check-in will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure, so this time you should arrive at the airport at least two hours before your airport.”
The company also said, “Please make sure your contact details are up to date when managing your bookings. We will continue to monitor the situation and continue to release more information as soon as possible.”
Additionally, JET2 reminds travelers to consult with the travel information section of the website “at least 12 hours” prior to scheduled flights. They said, “You can find more information by entering your flight number or route and using the search panel above.”
The guidance continues to advise passengers to arrive at the airport in sufficient time. “We recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours before departure.
“In the event of flight disruptions, our dedicated operations team will work hard behind the scenes at our UK-based headquarters and be able to welcome you as quickly as possible.”
