With summer approaching soon, many people are trying to solidify their holiday plans, and one Caribbean gem should be on your radar. With its sun-drenched beaches, vibrant culture and rhythmic heartbeat, Cuba has plenty to offer to holiday makers.

Cuba boasts some of the most pristine beaches in the world. A short drive from the capital Havana, Varadero boasts 20 kilometres of powdery white sand and turquoise waters. It was named by Condé Nast travelers as one of the best beaches in the world.

For those seeking tranquility, the Canaleos Islands offer secluded islands like Cayo Largo, famous for its pristine coral reefs and diverse marine life.

Near Havana, Playa del Este, which includes Santa Maria del Mar and Mikayoto, offers convenient seaside escapes. These beaches are popular among locals and offer a more authentic Cuban beach experience.

Cuba in May is blessed with warm temperatures, with an average of 30°C, with humidity increasing as the moon progresses. It's the start of the rainy season, but the showers are usually short, leaving plenty of sunlight in outdoor activities.

Havana, the capital of Cuba, is a city that is intertwined with history and modernity. Walking around the old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, he admires Baroque and Neoclassical architecture.

A wide esplanade that stretches along the coast, Malecon is perfect for a sunset walk and offers a glimpse into everyday Cuban life.

For art lovers, housed in a former cooking oil factory, Fablja de Arte Cubano presents contemporary Cuban art, music and performance. Literary enthusiasts can visit Finca Vigia, former residence of Ernest Hemingway. It is currently a museum that preserves his heritage.

Cuban cuisine is a fusion of Spanish, African and Caribbean influences. Dining at Paradar, a privately owned restaurant, offers an intimate culinary experience.

Notable spots include Dona Utimia, known for its traditional cuisine, and Laglida, which combines gourmet cuisine with a historic atmosphere.

Cuba operates a dual currency system. Credit cards may not be widely accepted, so it is recommended to bring enough cash, and if possible, euro or pound.

Also, travelers should be aware that internet access is restricted, so they should consider purchasing a local SIM card when visiting or using a Wi-Fi hotspot in public areas.

Cuba in May offers a vibrant and unforgettable escape, whether you're relaxing on a beach with a kiss in the sun or dancing to the rhythm of salsas on Havana's lively streets.
