Zanzibar is working to eliminate malaria as it aims to strengthen the ambitions of the local tourism industry and the blue economy. Under the guidance of Dr Hussein Ali Mwinini and the Zanzibar End Malaria Council, the islands entered the pre-escape phase, with local malaria transmission diminishing to a historically low level. Authorities emphasize that collective action in which government, private sector and community stakeholders are at the forefront of the initiative is essential to maintaining progress in avoiding revival.
