Following the signing of landmark codeshare deals by Kenya national airlines Safarilink Aviation and Kenya Airways, a new era of seamless safari trips has dawned. This strategic partnership is set up to revolutionize the way travelers access world-renowned safari destinations in Kenya.
The agreement, signed at the stunning Serena Mara Lodge in the heart of Masai Mara, marks a major milestone in strengthening Kenya's tourism infrastructure. Under this new collaboration, international passengers flying on Kenya Airlines can now book their entire trip with just one ticket, from global gateways such as New York (JFK) to top Wildlife destinations in Kenya.
Kenya Airways' large international network connects seamlessly with Safari Link's nine key air strips in Masai Mara twice a day, as well as two flights a day to Amboseli, Nanyaki and Samburu. This integration eliminates the need for multiple bookings, reduces ground transport times, and ensures travelers have more smooth journeys and more wild time.
“This partnership exemplifies smart innovation,” said Alan Kirabuka, CEO of Kenya Airways. “We are linking Kenya's global reach to natural treasures, while supporting communities and conservation through enhanced access.”
From Wilson Airport in Nairobi, a fleet of Cessna Caravan and Dash 8 aircraft Safari Links is fully equipped to reach a remote safari lodge with speed and reliability.
“We are pleased to partner with Kenya Airways to provide a truly seamless safari experience,” added Alex Avedi, CEO of Safarilink Aviation.
This codeshare agreement comes when leisure tourism accounts for more than 44% of all arrivals in Kenya, indicating a strong global demand for accessible, high-quality safari experiences. By bridging international and domestic air travel, the partnership not only positions Kenya as a top destination, but also increases its competitiveness in the global tourism market.
“Efficiency and reliability are valuable for travelers today,” said Julius Syle, chief commercial and customer director at Kenya Airways. “This partnership has led us to answer that call. It brings Kenya's magic closer to the world.”
With this bold move, Safarilink and Kenya Airways aren't just expanding their routes. It opens the door to unforgettable adventures and sets new standards for travel in Africa.
