Indigo has appointed former FAA administrator Michael Whitaker as independent superintendent.
The move was announced on April 24th, and has been subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, bringing airlines to expand their operations around the world. Whitaker will become the ninth board member of low-cost operators if confirmed.
Whitaker was an FAA administrator from October 2023 to January 2025, resigning ahead of current US President Donald Trump's inauguration.
He has established leadership positions throughout the aviation sector, including Advanced Air Mobility Firm Supernal, United Airlines and Hyundai.
“We're committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director, Indigo.
