Once you arrive at the stunning Caribbean Island of Grenada, prepare to be greeted by vibrant buildings and lush green scenery. It is roughly the same size as the Isle of Wight and is known affectionately as “Spice Island” due to its exports of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice and turmeric. The island is also famous for its breathtaking white sandy beaches and a wonderfully relaxed lifestyle. We quickly adapted to “island time” and tasted a rum punch with cinnamon floured rum punch and focused on the punch!
High on the island there is a prison, and locals humorously claim that prisoners can enjoy the best views. But in reality, you will encounter beautiful panoramas and friendly faces wherever you go. Even if you visit during the rainy season (usually June to December), there are plenty of attractions to entertain you, including the home of the capital's Chocolate Museum, St. George's. Our resort chose massages and other beauty treatments at the luxurious spa.

The Mount Cinnamon Hotel and Beach Club exudes a stylish, boutique atmosphere, with a respectable view as the accommodation is located on the hillside. The suite offers isolation away from the main pool and features a balcony overlooking the ocean.
Every night, freshly baked cookies were delivered to our door. This was a fun touch. The large villa is equipped with cooking facilities, perfect for families but had an espresso machine with a mini fridge and an option to order room service.
If you're about to spoil yourself, one of the villas at the top of the resort boasts a private infinity pool.

The resort can be a bit difficult to navigate for prams, strollers, or for those requiring obstacles, but shuttle buses are available immediately if necessary.
Where to eat in Grenada?
Mount Cinnamon offers “garden tours” where you can learn about the farm-to-table spirit. The resort's open-plan restaurant serves a breakfast with bird songs and features an incredible walk-up buffet filled with muffins, fresh pineapples and more.
For additional charges, choose your day's Caribbean cuisine, from swordfish to salted fish and plantains.
As the sun sets, the fairy-lit beach cabanas become hot spots. We thoroughly enjoyed the night of the BBQ bonfire, listening to the steel drum band, eating fresh shrimp and smores.

We highly recommend the stunning Concord Falls waterfall dining experience, a culinary addition to your stay at Mount Cinnamon. We enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal paired with lamb cocktails and champagne.
If you are marking a special occasion, you can also arrange a private beach dinner at the resort.
We had a fun evening at the dangerous dock with a relaxed party atmosphere. In a taxi ride for just 15 minutes, you buy tokens for the evening to cover your food and drink.
We enjoyed the jerk chicken and cocktails.

What to do in Grenada?
While praised the ocean from the sunrounger is one thing, for a more immersive experience, Dive Grenada offers snorkeling, diving and kayaking adventures. We chose snorkeling, including riding a speedboat to the underwater sculpture park.
If you prefer diving, you can qualify for a short course. The best time to venture out is in the morning before the wind picks up.
Do you fantasize about Tipple?
The island has many rum distilleries. Alternatively, you can book a lamb flavour experience with Mount Cinnamon and try out some of the local brews.
There's no shortage of tours of the island. We chose a driving tour that included a visit to the National Reserve that fed the monkeys and a Belmont Estate where we learned about cocoa production.
