Air France continues to upgrade its long-haul business cabin offers. The company has announced a new partnership with Accor Group's luxury hospitality brand Sofitel, and is introducing mattress pads to all long-distance business class seats. These mattress pads will gradually be deployed on long-haul flights for all airlines, including the South African routes, starting in July 2025, ensuring optimal comfort throughout the journey, day and night.
To design this mattress pad, Air France has partnered with Sofitel My Bed, Sofitel's best bedding collection, and is universally recognized for its expertise and outstanding comfort. The two brands promise to showcase the French craftsmanship elegantly.
Mattress pad for perfect comfort
Created specifically for airline business class customers, this mattress pad is carefully crafted and designed to make passengers feel floating in the cloud. It can be wrapped in the seat for an extra layer of comfort, providing the ideal conditions for relaxation from take-off to landing, and creating a coco of true happiness in any seat position.
The mattress pads placed in each seat along with pillows, blankets and slippers before boarding have one distinctive colour of a business cabin. It seamlessly blends with the overall cabin design and comfort elements to maintain a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere.
Easy to use, place the attached end of the mattress pad on the seat headrest to smooth it out against the backrest and seat cushion. The mattress pads are carefully placed with notches that are suitable for all business seats and seat belts across all aircraft types (Boeing 777, Boeing 787, Airbus A330, Airbus A350). It can be used completely safely and in a variety of flight stages, from takeoff to landing. After each flight, it is carefully cleaned and repackaged for maximum hygiene.
This new accessory will be gradually rolling out from July 2025. By the end of the year, it will be available on long-haul flights from all airlines, regardless of departure times or duration of flight, ensuring absolute comfort day and night.
“We are working together with the expertise of our extraordinary partner Sofitel to continue our business cabin trips as a true heaven of sky happiness.” “The introduction of new mattress pads will further enhance the comfort provided on-board, ensuring even more peace of mind before you reach your destination and greater relaxation during your daytime flight.”
