Green Africa Airways said it had halted the operation until after the Eid-Al-Fitr holiday, as a result of a sudden and unexpected development with aircraft lenders.
The airline, which takes pride as a true version of Nigeria's low-cost airline, said issues with aircraft lenders are preventing flights from driving over the next few days.

In a statement to our customers, Babawande Afolabi, CEO of Green Africa, said:
Afolabi further said that despite efforts by carriers to manage the situation and immediately regret disruptions in their business schedule, they “cannot operate until after Eid-Al-Fitr Holidays.”
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause to you and we sincerely apologise to our precious gcustomers who will be affected by this disruption in our flight schedule.”
He explained that he is actively working to ensure that his career can resume operations in a very short order.
Customers with existing reservations he said will receive direct communications from FCARE on refunds, rebooking options and alternative travel arrangements.
He encouraged all airline customers to access the official website and social media channels for the latest updates.
